President Vladimir Putin has vowed to "stabilize" the annexed regions

The Russian president announced the annexation of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson last week after self-proclaimed referendums which were not recognised internationally.


The Ukrainian army has regained control of six villages in the Luhansk region, after days of fighting with pro-Russian separatists.



Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would re-take any territory that had been lost, in response to questions about recent losses.
